GLOSSYBOX: HALLOWEEN TRICK EDITION (OCTOBER 2018)

So this month Glossybox launched 2 mirroring boxes and subscribers recieved one of either a Trick or Treat box. I recieved the Trick box which I was really pleased with. The packaging is very fitting, with a black box with deep burgundy vampire lips on the front.

ILLAMASQUA ANTIMATTER LIPSTICK - ENERGY (RRP £20)

This is a colour I would never buy, its such a bright purple but I think it will look really cool around halloween. I definitely want to try a make up look where I can work this colour, it's definitely not the kind of colour I would usually wear.

The formula of this lipstick is gorgeous! It's super pigmented and really long lasting, which is exactly what you want when you're wearing such a bold colour.

SLEEK EYESHADOW PALETTE - AU NATUREL (RRP £8.99)

When I saw this palette I wasn't overly impressed with the colours - the top row are very pale colours and the bottom row is full of very dark colours, without many middle transition colours which makes it quite difficult to do an eyeshadow look with the darker colours. I also find it a bit annoying because there are 4 matte shades on the top row that are all very similar, so it is hard to build up a transition shade when they all look basically the same on the lid.

However the pigmentation of the shadows, particularly the darker colours is amazing. I've been looking for a good khaki eyeshadow and I have finally found one that isn't hard to blend or patchy. And it lasts all day long which is amazing. I'm also really enjoying using the cooler tones on my eyes which is very different for me.

THIS WORKS IN TRANSIT CAMERA CLOSE UP (RRP £17)

I have heard of the brand This Works a lot before, but I have never actually tried the brand. This product sounds amazing, its a mask, moisturiser and primer all in one and it sounds right up my street.

I haven't used it as a mask, I don't think it would be the best mask, but it is a great moisturiser/primer and it works so well under make up! It makes my skin really smooth which is great for applying make up on top! It's a lovely product but it isn't super amazing or impressive. It doesn't make me want to go and buy a full size or try more from the brand.

LUNA BY LUNA TRANSLUCENT LOOSE POWDER (RRP £17)

Luna by Luna is a brand I have never heard of before. I don't tend to love loose powders, just because it can be messy and I find it takes more work than a normal solid powder, but I guess if you have the time to spend applying a loose powder the end result is usually much more flawless.

Another thing I don't like about loose powders is that you usually get flashback. This powder does flashback and it leaves a white cast when its applied with the sponge that it comes with. It is quite hard to blend out so you need to apply a really light amount with a fluffy brush. This isn't my favourite product and it hasn't changed the way I feel about loose powders.

MUA LUXE BRONZE & SCULPT CONTOUR KIT (RRP £5)

I have used MUA products before but I have never been super impressed but this contour kit is actually really cool. You get one bronzer shade and one cooler contour colour. I was expecting one to be a cream and one powder, but they are both powders which I much prefer.

The bronzer is shimmery and actually quite a pale bronzer, I have started applying it to all the high points of my face, and basically use it as a highlighter. It works really well as a bronzey highlighter and I really love it. The contour shade is really good too, it looks quite dark in the pan but once applied it's a really good shade, not too dark or too cool toned.

This box has an interesting mix of high end products and more budget friendly products but I am super impressed with this box and the range of products inside! This is definitely one of my favourite boxes so far. I think the themed boxes are more interesting which is why I love them so much.
