ALOHA - July Glossybox review

I was so excited for this months box, I love the Aloha theme and all the products inside are perfect for a Summer holiday, I think they got this theme perfect when everyone if very much in need of a little bit of Summer!

I keep all my boxes, often for storage but sometimes I use them as memory boxes, this would be such a great one to use as a memory box for a trip away or for travelling!

JESSICA BLAC. GLOW DROP PRIMER (RRP £16)

This is a brand I've never heard of but I love this product! It's a glowy primer for under your make up, but I think it would also work as a liquid highlighter really well too. The first time I used this I put a light layer all over my face, followed by a tinted moisturiser and my usual make up. I was surprised how much the glowiness of this product came through my make up, usually I find my foundation and base products cover most of the glowiness of these products. I definitely didn't need a highlighter on top of this which really shows how great it is!

In future I would probably just put this on the higher points of my face as the glow really does show through, so it was bordering on a bit of a sweaty look, so thats definitely something to think about.  I think it would also be great mixed in with any other base products to add glow - like a matte foundation.

Bonus points for being vegan and cruelty free.

NAOBAY ORANGE JUICE HANDCREAM (RRP £11.50)

I have had a previous product from Naobay in a glossybox before! And this hand-cream looks great, I love the orange scent. However I don't use a lot of hand-cream so I think I might give this one to my mum!

GIVE THEM LALA BEAUTY ALOHA BRONZER (RRP £19.80)

This is another brand I haven't heard of, but I love the collaboration with the brand in terms of the themed box the product comes in. However the product itself doesn't have great packaging - the compact feels quite cheap and flimsy, not very durable so I would probably avoid taking it on any trips as I would be worried it would break. And the mirror came unstuck from the lid after opening it just once, so it can be quite messy trying to put it back in place.

The bronzer has a shimmer running through it which makes it perfect for the summer. I do generally prefer a matte bronzer, but I was so impressed with this! The colour looks quite orange in the pan so I was a bit apprehensive, but on the skin it looks like a really warm tone, great for the summertime when you already have a bit of a tan. And the shimmer doesn't come through at all which is great for me.

THE BEAUTY CROP PALM BALM (RRP £18)

I really like the idea of these cream lip and cheek products, and the packaging of this is absolutely gorgeous and very summery! However the tone is a little too pink for me for both cheeks and lips. I do go through lip balm ridiculously quickly so I'm sure I will use this up, but it's not something I would buy for myself!

KOCO STAR FRUIT SLICE MASK SHEET (£4)

Glossybox often throw in some sort of mask, last month it was eye patches, and to be honest I'm not a huge fan of sheet masks.
I do, however,  love watermelon so I was looking forward to testing this mask out. It's actually not a normal sheet mask which is the shape of a face, instead to peel off the watermelon circles in the mask sheet and apply them to your face. I'm really not sure what to think of it, like the idea is cute, but it meant that not every part of your face had the mask on it so it kind-of defeats the purpose of the mask in the first place.  I guess it is good if you want to target specific areas of your face, and the sheet mask did feel nice, but all in all its a bit of an odd product in my opinion.

All in all I love the theme and the idea of this box, but the products inside aren't completely up my street.

  5. It's a shame the products aren't perfect because the packaging is so lovely! And I like the fact they're vegan and cruelty free. Hopefully the next box is better!
