REVIEW: GRACE AND GREEN

We all have periods, and during this time we all want to be as comfortable as possible!

But one thing I find is that you generally have a lot of waste as a result of your period. This is obviously nothing to be ashamed of - we aren't asking for periods - but I think there are some really great eco-friendly period products to try out!

I would definitely use a mooncup if I had regular periods, but as I am on a progesterone-only pill I have irregular periods which tend to be very light.

I came across this brand Grace & Green on instagram as I am often looking for more sustainable alternative to products we all use very often. All the products from Grace & Green are bio-degradable, they use organic cotton with no chemicals which means they are all natural and great for anyone with sensitive skin.

All the packaging is bio-degradable so there is much less waste than usual period products. And I think the packaging is also very aesthetic and pretty which is great.

My order came very quickly and had a lovely hand-written note inside which I thought was a really great touch. There is an option on the website to set up a subscription so you get your choice of products sent on a monthly basis so you are always stocked up for that time of the month!

Tampons

The tampons are very similar to tampax tampons so I really don't have much to say about them! The wrapper is made from bio-degradable plastic and the applicator is cardboard which means its also bio-degradable (much better than plastic applicators). They are easy to use and very comfortable, they also do tampons without applicators is thats what you prefer.

Day pads

Both the day and night pads are made with organic cotton and have a biodegradable waterproof backing to keep you nice and protected all day.

Liners

The liners are super thin which is exactly what you want from a liner! And they are wrapped in the same bio-degradable packaging as the pads.

I'm really impressed with these products and will definitely be purchasing them again in the future, I did not set up a subscription as I wanted to test out the products before I committed to the brand but I think from now on I will definitely choose this sustainable brand over the supermarket alternatives! I also just wanted to note that there really isn't much of a price difference between these products and brands such as tampax and so I think its really great to support brands which are trying to make a difference!

  6. They sound amazing! And I'm always looking for better options in this department. Probably TMI but I can get really sensitive with the regular ones. My periods are long so I typically have to wear something for 7-10 day, and I bleed when I ovulate so I'm basically using something for half of my life so I'm forever wanting to find the most down there friendly options. They sound amazing, I love the packaging too! I definitely want to check them out x

  8. I actually haven't had a period in around 4/5 years due to the pill I'm on so thankfully right now, I don't have to worry about period products and how they're so bad for the environment! But if/when I do have them again, I'd definitely look out for eco alternatives. These sound great!
