SKINCARE ROUTINE MARCH 2018

Good skincare is really important to me, I don’t like to wear makeup every day and I think if your skin can look its best makeup free then you really don’t need to. But this time of year can be so awkward, one day its sunny and bright and the next its pouring down and freezing! So skincare can be really important to keep you skin looking its best.

I like to invest in good skincare products, more so than with makeup because what you are using on your skin to clean and hydrate it needs to be good quality. And I try very hard to stick to my routine every day, as consistency is key, but sometimes I can be a bit rubbish.

CLEANSER

NO7 CLEANSER

This has been my go-to cleanser recently, I apply this to dry skin, usually with make up on, and then rub it in and use a hot cloth to wipe away the product. I use this in the morning and the evening. It’s so thick it feels almost nourishing on the skin. It has a really nice, clean smell and leaves my face feeling clean and make-up free!

GARNIER MICELLAR GEL CLEANSER

I’ve started using this after the gym. Normally I’m not a big fan of cleansers that lather up, I prefer to apply something to a dry face and then wipe it off with a cloth. But after the gym when all I want to do is jump in the shower this is what I have been using. It’s so quick and convenient to wash my face in the shower, and because it does lather up, it leaves my face feeling really clean which I love when I’ve been working hard in the gym.

 BODY SHOP VITAMIN E TONER

The Vitamin E collection from The Body Shop was the first proper skincare set I ever got. So the smell of this reminds me of being about 12 years old and pretending I knew what I was doing.
I don’t find that different toners make much difference to the skin, I just like this one to freshen my face after cleansing.

TROPIC SUPER GREEN SERUM

I talked about this is my review of tropic skincare. I like having this as part of my skincare routine, it nourishes the skin and makes it look smoother and glowier. I use it every other day as part of my night time routine. It is very restoring on the skin which is great if you have been out in the cold.

BENEFIT EYE CREAM

This is the only eye cream I’ve used where I felt like it actually did anything to my eyes. It sort of tingles when you apply it but it just lightens the darkness and deepness of my under eye bags. And I find my makeup applies really nicely on top, it seems to stop concealer from caking up under the eyes.

MOISTURISER

NIVEA DAY CREAM

Nivea is a brand that is known for its moisturiser and being suitable for any skin type. It is important to always have a day cream with an SPF in it to protect your skin, even if it’s not actually sunny outside, and with the weather at this time of year it can get sunny out of nowhere.

This moisturiser feels thick on the skin but quickly sinks in which is perfect for a pre-makeup moisturiser.

NIVEA NIGHTCREAM

The night cream is really thick and it makes me feel like my skin is going to be nourished and plumped up through the night. It makes my skin feel replenished as if my skin is restored overnight, which is great during the changing seasons.

SANCTUARY CHARCOAL FACE MASK

I try to use a mask about once a week. My favourite ones are the charcoal ones that detoxify and reduce the size of pores. This is my favourite one because it heats up on your face. It leaves the skin feeling very clean and fresh and it isn't too harsh on the skin.

The only thing I don’t like about this mask is that it doesn’t dry down. It isn’t necessarily a problem but prefer to feel the mark dry and harden on my face to make me feel like it’s doing something. That being said it is a lot easier to take of as it is still wet.
